- <p> Lordy, Lordy. What has happened to Amy Grant? If her music
- sounds different it's because the celestial singer who earned
- five Grammys and sold 10 million records as a gospel superstar
- is now shooting for secular success. It looks as if she has got
- it too: her pop single Baby Baby hit the No. 1 spot last week.
- The Nashville-based Grant, 30, likes to challenge
- misconceptions of gospel musicians by showing they're not
- "bloodless Barbie and Ken dolls." But at the same time she
- doesn't wish to offend her Christian fans, whom she'd still like
- to keep. "I hope they'll say, `I know her. She hasn't grown
- horns and a tail,'" Grant says.
